McCaine has a fascination with certain themes and fences are one of them.  I love the rambling movement and rural nature of many of them.

I love the oranges and yellows - it's almost a vision from another world.  Notice no McCaine landscape seems to be completed without the ubiquitous daisies.

Palm Springs Life Magazine - April 1970

This is the only known article I've been able to find on McCaine.  Apparently he was living in Palm Springs around this time.  Notice the top left hand picture is very similar to the painting I've purchased (how lucky!)

It also included this color photograph.  I'd love to have this warm up the living room.

Not much is known about a painter named McCaine.  Most of his work appears to have been created in the late 60's to early 70's.  He was very prolific and may have been a staff artist with Aaron Brothers - though they have no further records on him.

His paintings are very colorful, whimsical, and timeless scenes.  Often available for the budget-minded art collector, they should be bought because you appreciate the work, not for investment, unless you are looking for only a small return.

This is the second McCaine I've purchased.  Very simple and pleasing.

This is the first McCaine I've bought.  A beach scene and very monochromatic - which many of his paintings were of that type.
